                                Spring is here!
It has been a long, hard year and I hope you are doing well!  I have lots of news since It has been a busy year creating new pieces of art even with the pandemic and everything else that has been happening!  First of all, because of the pandemic, the Commonwheel Artists’ Festival during Labor Day 2020 was held virtually and I participated with a video of my art, studio and gallery spaces in my home.  It was an interesting experience for which I have received a lot of positive reviews (thank goodness!).  The festival will return to the Manitou Park as usual on Labor Day weekend this year.
In November of 2020, I had eleven of my clay masks sculptures in the exhibit, Faces from Within, at the Fuller Gallery of the Spanish Peaks Arts Council (SPACe) in La Veta, Colorado.  Since it was during the height of the pandemic and few people were allowed into the exhibit at one time, I am planning on having another home studio opening and exhibit in Colorado Springs this summer.  Most of the sculptures will be on exhibit again and be available to more of the public.  I will send out an e-blast to encourage you and your friends and family to visit.  This exhibit always brings a smile and a sense of imagination; something we all need right now!
The big news is that I now have a potter’s wheel and will begin to throw pottery that will be transformed into 3D sculptures.  I am really exited!  I began throwing pots as a ceramicist in high school and college and the motor memory has kicked in after all these years!  I just have to practice, practice, practice!  It has been so fun to sit down, close out the world and concentrate on pulling clay!  What could be better?
Also, this year the painting Grand Tetons II was accepted into the International Watermedia Exhibit hosted by the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society.  It will be on exhibit at the Library 21C in Colorado Springs until May 30th.  You are welcome to visit the beautiful new library and see this biannual exhibit with a face mask and social distancing.
That’s about all for now!  With the vaccines and the lightening of the pandemic, I see a lot of hope and a return to normalcy this year.  Life should get easier and please let me know if you have any questions, comments or suggestions

                                      Thank You!
